Modern Fiction Author Terms and ConditionsYour short story submission must meet the following terms and conditions in order to be published in Modern Fiction Magazine. Original workAny stories submitted for inclusion into Modern Fiction Magazine must be your own original work. Upon acceptance of your story, you will be asked to sign a contract agreeing that you will be held 100% liable for any suits that arise due to plagiarized material. Unpublished materials onlyYou are required to agree that your story submission has not been published in any other form. Upon acceptance of your story you will be required to agree to a contract that states you will be held 100% liable for any suits that arise due to copyright infringement. Offensive contentNo story will be published that contains offensive content. Modern Fiction Magazine is delivered to households and requires that all content be suitable for any reader. The following will be deemed as offensive content: profanity, sexual content, graphic violence, hate and/or racism. On the topic of graphic violence, some violence is acceptable but should not be so graphic that it is offensive in nature. As a general guideline, think about what is accepted on public television. Finished final draftsYour story must be a complete final draft in order to be published. Any work that is not in a final polished state will be declined until a time that it is suitable for publication. Contract to publishIf your story is chosen for publication, you will be emailed a contract outlining your payment as well as your responsibilities (original unpublished work agreement). This contract must be signed, dated and faxed back to the number indicated on the contract to be valid. No story will be published until the contract obligations have been satisfied. Right to update these termsPrecision Media Solutions holds the right to alter these terms as they see fit. |
